Mexico has much more quality and should win here.

Mexico is coming in good form and I see them favorites to win this group. They are in a generational change, as left out of the squad some veterans and experienced players (Ochoa, Hirving Lozano, Raul Jimenez), replacing them by some young promises.

Coach Lozano is under big pressure in this tournament, as if they don’t make a good performance could be fired. In previous friendlies they suffered a huge defeat 0:4 against Uruguay and then, with some changes and adjustments, improved against Brazil losing only 2:3, but we must remember that Brazil was playing with the B team there.

Before those friendlies they reached the CONCACAF Finals where lost 2:0 against the USA.

Although the tournament is played in the USA, Mexico will play at home. In the United States there are a lot of Mexicans so Mexico will be the team (alongside USA of course) with more fans support in this Copa America.

Their key players will be the striker Santiago Gimenez, who made a great season with Feyenoord scoring 23 goals, as well as West Ham midfielder Edson Alvarez. If we sum the market value of both players alone, it’s higher than the whole Jamaica's squad, especially because they’ll be missing some key players.

Mexico has a lot of pressure to show that they are still a competitive team, both the players and coach, so I expect them to play motivated here. Although they are changing some pieces in the squad, they have much more quality than Jamaica and I expect them to win this fixture and make the first step to qualify to the next round, which is the minimum expected for them.

Jamaica is a very weak team, nobody expects anything from them. Have a great coach who is the icelandic Heimir Hallgrimsson, who reached the first WC for Iceland some years ago, but their squad and preparation for this tournament is very poor.

Firstly, they’ll be missing for the Copa America their captain and best player - Aston Villa’s winger Leon Bailey. He had a great season in the Premier League and is the game-changer in Jamaica, and doesn’t have any good replacements. He refused to play the tournament after declaring that the Jamaican federation couldn’t give the team and players proper conditions.

Furthermore, their starter goalkeeper and captain Andre Blake is injured and won’t play this fixture.

Without Bailey, the main players for Jamaica will be Antonio and De Cordova-Reid.

Jamaica is an offensive team so I expect them to attack here. They have much more quality in attack than at the back, whilst Mexico is also a very dangerous team upfront with plenty of good players. I expect an open game with both teams scoring, but in an open game, the team with more quality use to have the advantage, and here Mexico is undoubtedly the one with better players.
