Disagree with this odds.

Croacia made a terrible performance against Spain. I had more expectations on them, but conceded some goals that we never saw previously in this team. It was simply too easy for Spain, and we didn’t see that strong competitive face we used to see from Croatia in this tournaments.

Gvardiol (who is their best defender) made a terrible performance and their best player was Kovacic. Nobody was at their best level, neither the big players we expect to see leading the team (Gvardiol, Modric, Brozovic).

They have a good squad with some good names, but they performed really badly against Spain and didn’t look even close to the level shown in previous big tournaments. Also I believe they could struggle here because will be forced to dominate and have the initiative, whilst Croacia performs better against strong teams when they can defend, be strong and create danger at counters.

The main reason to bet against them is the poor performance against Spain, losing their main strengths and looking a very mediocre team, and also the level shown by Albania against Italy.

Albania looked like an easy rival on paper, but made a very impressive performance. Despite being a very young team, they showed personality in players like Asllani and looked a very difficult team to face, very physical but also with good players who have experience in major european leagues.

I think that the early goal in the first minute sent their plan to the trash, and they struggled to find a new structure and adapt themselves to that unexpected scenario. However, they were close to equalizing and showed very positive notes for me.

I believe that Croatia will struggle to find spaces here, especially given the fact that they will attack and the dominant, something they are not accustomed to. Albania has nothing to lose and showed arguments enough to compete against strong teams.

Croacia has more quality and experience and of course could win (and it’s what everybody expects), but also nobody expected Spain to win the first game so easily and neither Italy to struggle as much as they did to beat Albania. Based on the performances from both teams in the first round, and the kind of game expected, it won’t be an easy game for Croatia and could even suffer a defeat or a draw by Albania, who has nothing to lose and could be more dangerous than the majority of people think.
