The 1st round of the Euro 2024 group stage will end on Tuesday. One of the two games in Group F will be between Turkey and Georgia. They both are in the same group with Czechia and Portugal. In this game, I predict Turkey's win.

Turkey is a really good in-possession side that is going to give a lot of teams in this tournament problems. Vincenzo Montella is a coach who likes quick, fluid passing in the build-up to create transition moments with their outstanding ball carriers and playmakers running at the opponent's back line. Turkey are a really good defensive team when they are sitting in their 4-4-2 defensive block. They will play very compact and narrow to make it difficult for teams to play through the middle of the pitch and force them out wide.

Rarely will you see Georgia build out of the back and when they do they are always dropping a lot of guys deep to try and aid in the build-up. Most of the time, you will see them send the ball long from goal kicks, trying to win second balls or create transition opportunities. There isn’t much talent on this squad along their back line or in the midfield in terms of ball stopping, which is a problem because of how passive they play. Georgia is a bottom-three team in this Euro field. They had the worst expected goal differential of anyone in the Euro field. The problem is they are going to face three teams that are not only a clear step above them from both a talent and tactical perspective, but the second they fall behind and have to come out of their defensive block, they are in big trouble.

I'm going to back Turkey in this game. They are more experienced and they played much better in the qualifier as they were able to beat even a team like Croatia while Georgia had only 2 wins and both were against Cyprus.
