In my opinion Hungary have all the required tools to at least avoid loss in this game. Double chance on the away side looks like a very good option to play.

Ireland currently have huge problems with goalscoring. They failed to score in 3 of the last 4 matches (only one goal scored against poor New Zealand). I can’t imagine a big improvement today because they are without midfielders Browne, Molumby & Hendriks and without strikers Ferguson, Ogbene and top scorer Robinson. On the other hand, Hungary kept two clean sheets in a row and their defensive line with players like Goalkeeper Gulacsi from RBL & defenders Orban (RBL), Szalai (Freiburg) or Kerkez (Bournemouth) are good enough to stop Ireland.

Ireland is without stability or consistency at the back - in the last 12 matches only 3 clean sheets (twice against poor Gibraltar). During that run they conceded goals against teams like Greece (2 twice), Latvia (2) or New Zealand (1). In addition to that, today they are without goalkeeper Bazunu and 2 key defenders: Egan and Collins. Hard to imagine clean sheets for hosts. Hungary have superb playmaker Szoboszlai from Liverpool - he has been directly involved in seven goals in his last five Hungary appearances (5 goals, 2 assists), including scoring in each of his last three.

Ireland failed to win in the last 5 home matches. On the other hand, Hungary has gone unbeaten in their previous 14 games (9 wins in the process) since losing 2-0 to Italy in a UEFA Nations League encounter in September 2022. It is the longest active unbeaten streak of any European nation now. I see the continuation of that streak today. They want to keep momentum into Euro2024 main competition.
