Coppa Italia final. Both teams are deserved finalists and both will be deserved winners. However, I see Atalanta slightly favorites in this very tight game with opposite dynamics.

This title could be the icing on the cake for a fantastic season for Atalanta, or the life jacket for a disastrous season for Juventus

For Atalanta, Gian Piero Gasperini has again built a winning team. Without matter the players and the transfers, this season he managed to make again a very vertical, offensive and fantastic team. They managed to qualify to the UEL final in Dublin beating the giants title contenders - Liverpool in semifinals, with a solid victory 0:3 in Anfield in the first leg, and that will be their third Coppa final in the last 5 years (they lost against Lazio and Juventus in 2019 and 2021). Furthermore, they are also close to achieving the qualification to the UCL in the Serie A.

Their main striker Scamacca is suspended and it’s a big blow for Gasperini. Most probably they’ll use De Ketelaere as false nine, and Lookman as assist-man. Although Scamacca is the topscorer (17 goals), Atalanta has plenty of alternatives and threats: Koopmeiners (15), De Ketelaere (13), Lookman (12), Ederson (7), Pasalin (7)...

Undoubtedly they’ll play this game with an offensive mindset, making a high pressure and trying to steal the ball to Juventus.

On the other hand, for Juventus this is their last chance to avoid finishing the season without any title. The second half of the campaign has been disappointing and they struggled to qualify to the final as they won the first game against Lazio 2:0, but in the second leg had to score a late goal at 83’ to qualify (lost 2:1). Furthermore, they are in terrible form: 5 draws in a row and only 2 victories in their last 15 Serie A games.

The weapons of Allegri for this fixture are clear: the couple Vlahovic - Chiesa and a strong midfield. Locatelli is suspended and will be replaced by Caviglia, alongside Rabiot and Cambiaso in that area. Caviglia has few experience and I believe that Locatelli’s absence will be noted.

I expect a very tight game between opposite teams: Atalanta in recent months have been playing fantastic and fast football, whilst Juventus have been playing predictable and slow football lately, struggling to break even games. Looking at the form of both sides, for me Atalanta has the clear advantage. If they show their best football as they have been doing recently, they are totally able to beat Juventus.

Without Locatelli, Atalanta has a very good chance to win the midfield battle which will be crucial in this fixture, imposing their style and creating chances.

In both games this season in the Serie A the result was the same: a draw. I wouldn’t be surprised to see the same score here in the regular time, but in any case I believe that Atalanta has more chances of winning the title than Juventus.
