It was a fantastic result for Barcelona to win away at Paris Saint Germain, and they’ll start the second leg as favourites to advance thanks to the 2:3 achieved.

However, I think that this game was a mix of two things: Barcelona over performing and PSG underperforming; especially Mbappe who disappeared in the first leg.

Frenkie de Jong’s return in midfield was key for Barcelona as he offered a calm presence and used the ball well, so I expect him, alongside Ilkay Gundogan, to play a similar role here.

Another returning player, Pedri, came off the bench to produce a beautiful assist for Raphinha, and most likely he’ll start and add an important creative threat as Barca look to kill the tie off.

Raphinha was exceptional running at the defence and it was clear to me that PSG missed the suspended Achraf Hakimi as they struggled to cope without their right-back. The Moroccan will return here and, while he’ll have to keep Raphinha quiet, he’ll also look to threaten going forward as the French side target a comeback.

The big story is this could be Kylian Mbappe’s last Champions League game for PSG. As said, he made a very poor performance in the first leg, with Jules Kounde doing a fantastic job marking him, but Mbappe will not give up on his dream yet, so I expect a big performance. He is a game changer and I can’t see him disappearing in two games, and I’m sure he will want to show why is one of the best players in the world.

Ousmane Dembele is another player to look out for. He looked very motivated, scored a great goal in Paris and, after his time at Barca didn’t work out, he’ll want to show the home crowd what he’s capable of. Playing in Barcelona again I expect him to make another good performance.

PSG need to attack from the beginning and make a good pressing. They have the forwards to trouble the opposition, and although I believe Barcelona could win the midfield battle, I expect PSG to cause more problems to their defense.

Barcelona’s defense has been vulnerable during the whole season, so I see them conceding at least one goal here. Upfront, it’s obvious for me that they have much less quality than PSG.

I also expect a good performance in terms of tactics by PSG. Luis Enrique is a great coach and I’m sure he’ll know how to make a good preparation for this fixture, taking in mind also that as opposed to Barcelona, PSG had the whole week to prepare this game as they didn’t play a league fixture in the weekend.
