Mjallby have started the season brilliantly by winning their first two games. They won 1-0 against Hacken away from home on the opening day and then beat Norrkoping 3-0 last week, where fans finished crazy with the performance of their team. They are starting to have the control of everything during the games, with an ambitious football and lot of confidence.

They look more solid than last season. This year they are playing much more offensive, with an impressive football. They are yet to concede a goal and upfront 4 different players have scored a goal so far. The new signing Rojkjaer has been a success, and alongside Alexander Johansson and Johan Bergstrom, they are generating a lot of dangerous actions. In the previous game against Norrkoping they generated 3.50 expected goals (xG).

I’m really impressed with their mentality and their offensive tactics in the games played so far, and I’m sure that this changes will bring them a lot of points this season.

On the other hand, AIK is the same story as always: bad performances, still not able to find the correct tactics, but winning points thanks to their individual quality. They have a good squad but have had poor performances so far.

They won newcomers Vasteras (1:0) and drew 2:2 against Brommapojkarna in their last game. In the Cup, was easily beaten in ¼ finals by Djugardens.

Still, four points from two games is a good start for a team that fought against relegation for much of last season.

Furthermore, they have problems in the defense for this fixture. Several players are doubtful: Sotte Papagiannopoulos, Tiedman Hansen, and the captain Milosevic is confirmed as absent. If finally the three are absent, it will be a big blow for the coach and difficult to solve.

With these problems in defense, they’ll suffer a lot with an offensive team who has confidence and are in good form like Mjallby. I see them conceding at least one goal here.

It looks like this season the only way to beat Mjallby will be having a solid defense, keeping the goal to nil and conceding very few chances. Something I really doubt AIK is able to do at the moment. During the previous two games they have been making defensive mistakes, especially individually from some players who are far from their best level.

This will be a tough test, AIK has more individual quality but Mjallby has the home advantage, better form and no injuries. Maybe during the season is AIK the better team but at the moment, it is Mjallby who should be the favorite.
