On Tuesday night, we will know all teams that are going to play in the Euro 2024. One of three matchups tonight is going to be between Ukraine and Iceland. In my opinion, there's a big difference between both teams and I'm going with Ukraine.

Last week, Ukraine had a semifinal game against Bosnia. It wasn't so easy especially because Bosnia scored first in the 56th minute so Ukraine didn't have a lot of time to come back. Bosnia was leading until the 85th minute when the Ukrainians tied the score but 3 minutes later they scored the 2nd goal and won. Overall, Ukraine controlled the ball 68% of the time, they had 5 more shots overall and 2 more shots on target. During the group stage, Ukraine was playing well, they finished 3rd but they had as many points as Italy but Ukraine didn't qualify because they had a worse head-to-head record.

Iceland wasn't the favorite in their semifinal match against Israel. The opponents scored first, but Iceland scored 2 goals from the 39th to 42nd minute. In the 73rd minute, Israel got a red card but 5 minutes later they missed the penalty. This time, Iceland needed just 4 minutes (83rd and 87th) to score 2 more goals and win the match 4:1. Interesting that Iceland controlled the ball just 44% of the time but they got more shots. During the group stage, Iceland was just the 4th best team and they won just 1 out of 5 road games.

While no Ukrainian players left the Bosnia semi-final with any debilitating problems, Girona wing wizard Viktor Tsygankov was absent from the squad entirely due to injury and is not guaranteed to be available for the showdown with Iceland. In contrast, Iceland suffered a double second-half blow in their crushing of Israel, where goalscorer Traustason and Blackburn Rovers winger Arnor Sigurdsson - victim of a red card-worthy tackle from Roy Revivo - were both withdrawn through injury. While Traustason should be given the all-clear, Sigurdsson has pulled out of the squad and could supposedly now miss the rest of the season.

I'm going with Ukraine in this game. They are a much better team, they have been very motivated in the last 2 years to prove what they are capable of. They played very well during the qualification and should have already secured the spot in the Euro 2024.
