Chiba can surely improve their defence as the season progresses but the visitors do unarguably have an edge in this area of the game – but not as big as the bookies probably believe. They currently occupy the 8th place in the standings with six points to their account. However, in my power rating they are in 5th place. This rating reflects the teams' pure class with the best possible starting lineups – excluding the motivation factor and possible fatigue – caused by a demanding match schedule. With the expected lineups I see the visitors as narrowly the better team. However the home advantage here is substantia. Chiba lost only four games at home in this league last season and also had a good score difference in front of their loud fans. The bookies see the visitors as narrow favourites – offering them odds of around 2.50 to win at the time of writing this preview. Based on my expert analysis the hosts to be the favourites – not clear though.

Before this they had 57% ball possession but lost to V-Varen Nagasaki 1-4 after an abysmal defensive performance! They were priced around 2.00 to win on the betting market. This is yet another example of them being overvalued by the bookies. In round 2 Shimizu beat Ehime 2-0 at home as very clear favourites but were not particularly strong. The visitors, who were promoted to this league for this season, even recorded many more goal attempts, shots off goal, attacks and dangerous attacks!
