In my opinion Sporting has really good chances to at least avoid loss in today's match.

It's already third match between both teams since October as they played against each other in group stage. Last two matches finished with draw 1:1 and I expect similar scoreline also today. I don't see Atalanta advantage in terms of potential or quality.

Atalanta after 28 rounds is on 6th position in Serie A, but they played worse than their results shows. Atalanta scored 51 goals, but according to the expected goals scored model they should score 41.9. On the other hand Atalanta have higher expected goals conceded value than 7 teams in Serie A.

Sporting looks outstanding at both ends of the pitch in current season of Portuguese league. Offensive firepower is huge - 69 goals scored in 24 rounds. Only 24 goals conceded, but according to the expected goals conceded model they should concede even less - 19.0.

Atalanta came for this game without big confidence. They failed to win in last 5 matches in all competitions. Currently no stability or consistency at the back - 5 consecutive matches without a clean sheet. That might be very problematic today.

As I mentioned before, Sporting have great offensive formation. Trio Goncalves/Gyokeres/Paulinho is very hard to stop. Sporting scored more than one goal in 4 of last 5 matches (12 goals in total). Team confidence should be on the highest possible level as they won 3:0 on the road against Arouca last weekend.

I believe Sporting is good enough to score at least one goal here, but they are also solid enough to not concede more than one goal. Double chance on the away side looks like great option to play.
