In my opinion Crystal Palace have really good chances to make at least one point in today's match up.

First match of the season between both teams finished with Crystal Palace 1:0 home win. Guests have good mental advantage, they as well didn't lost in last 3 consecutive matches at St. Mary's stadium.

Away match should suit Crystal Palace even more as they loves to play from the counter attack, same as Southampton. That's why hosts of today's match are not so good at home - Southampton won only 17 of last 54 home Premier League matches. Defensive formation is not solid at the moment as Saints conceded at least one goal in last 7 home matches in a row. I believe with offensive players like Benteke, Eze or Zaha Crystal Palace is able to score as well. In last 7 matches Crystal Palace failed to score only against Manchester City (the best defense in whole league), but even then they had 0.91 expected goals scored.

Crystal Palace don't have any new important absences, on the other hand Southampton top striker and captain Danny Ings still is not fully fit to start in first squad. It's a big blow, without him team didn't recorded a single win in last 8 matches.

Crystal Palace is in better form, in last 10 rounds they lost only against teams from top7. In last match they looked excellent against Sheffield on away (2:0) - expected goals scored for CP 2.04, for Sheffield 0.68. Confidence in team should be sky high. Southampton is the worst Premier League team in 2021, they made only 11 points and conceded 41 goals. Since win against Liverpool in January, they lost 13 of last 17 matches. In last round they lost 0:2 on away against Liverpool and for sure morale in the team is not good.

Southampton didn't made any win in last 10 Premier League matches played midweek. I don't see them as a so big favorite today as welll.
