Upfront they are not being brilliant either, with only 30 goals scored: the lowest number in the TOP12.

On the other hand, If Bayern Munich wants to retain any sliver of hope for winning the league, it cannot afford to slip up. They are already 8 points below Bayer Leverkusen so can’t afford more defeats or draws. However, they gained a lot of confidence in their last and crucial victory 2:1 against Leipzig.

It was a much needed victory after two defeats in a row, and was a convincing performance by the coach and players. When the score went 1-1 I thought “well, even if this ends in a draw, this squad finally played with heart and courage.” When Kane scored the last minute goal it felt like a hard earned but deserved win, as there were both lucky situations and misfortunes on both sides of the pitch. It was a satisfying win, I think, both for Tuchel and the squad. We saw the team really play as a unit and not as individuals. I didn’t see the “not my job” attitude I noticed from some players in recent matches.

This could be one of their last chances to reach Bayer Leverkusen and continue in the title race, and after their strong performance against RB Leipzig I’m confident they’ll get the victory as they also have much more quality. Harry Kane is in amazing form with 27 goals scored so far and Bayern already destroyed Freiburg in the previous game, winning 3:0 conceding 0 shots on target, 0.08 expected goals against, and having one goal disallowed by VAR.
