Almeria is a dead team. Winless in 25 rounds with 52 goals conceded, they are the worst team in all top leagues, and the only one who has not won a game yet.

Doesn’t matter if they play well, if they start winning the game, if they score an early goal… They always concede goals and chances, because the team is not mentally able to win a game. Almeria is always losing the concentration in defense and although they are trying to be more defensive lately, they are not being able to keep the goal to nil or protect the result.

Players also look like they are not with the coach, as he is always using a very defensive system and puts defensive tactics when they are leading, and always finish the games conceding goals and losing.

Their last performance against Granada (who is just above them) was terrible.

On the other hand, Atletico is not also in their best form, but still have a lot of potential. This game is in the middle of two important games (UCL ⅛ finals and Spanish Cup ½ finals), but they already have experience playing midweek games and should be able to make a good performance here.

Atletico is in good form upfront, scoring goals easily and generating a lot of chances. Furthermore, they need points because Athletic Bilbao is in very good form and just two points below him, which is a real risk for the TOP4.

I’m expecting a game where Almeria will again put a defensive system, trying to avoid chances and score at counters. But it’s the same they have been doing during the whole season and they have shown that they are not able to do that, because sooner or later they will concede goals.

The previous game finished 2:1 and was totally dominated by Atletico, playing a great first half where they finished 2:0 and could have scored more goals (had a goal diss by VAR). Then in the second half the pace decreased, conceded one goal and controlled the game.

Seeing the current level of Atletico upfront and Almeria in defense, I think that Atletico doesn't even need to make a good performance to win here. They just need to be effective and control the counters.
