The guests are yet to be defeated in Europa League this season, and are sixth in the league having only one point less than the fifth-placed Real Sociedad.

Mikel Arteta is doing a fine job in his first managerial experience, and the perfect way to end this poor season would be to bring silverware. For this game, Arsenal will only be without David Luiz and Dani Ceballos, with Kieran Tierney and Alexandre Lacazette likely to return to the starting eleven after recovering from an injury. This is the sixth time Arsenal will face Villareal in Europe, with Arsenal never losing at home to this opponent. The Gunners didn't impress so far in their Europa League run, and this is not the first time they go in the second tie without a victory. Arteta's men failed to win the first game against both Benfica and Slavia Prague, even losing to Olympiacos in the two sides' returning leg.

The guests are without Vicente Iborra, Etienne Capoue, and Juan Foyth for the upcoming clash. Unai Emery is doing a magnificent job with this squad, after his unsuccessful two years at Arsenal. He will enjoy knocking out his former team, especially after a great first game, but I still believe Arsenal has the quality to at least not lose at the Emirates. Villareal's last visit was against Alaves, with Emery's men losing 2-1. The Spanish side is likely to play Europa League again next season, and are less motivated than Arteta's young squad.
