This looks like a draw to me, pretty much everything points out to an even match between two equal teams, and in fact both would be relatively happy with a draw.

Nigeria ended up in a 1-1 draw with Equatorial Guinea in a surprisingly open, attacking and entertaining game. They conceded the first goal, but after the equalizer by top striker Osimhen (Napoli) they dominated fully, and also in this match the scoreline was very much wrong.

Class-wise player by player the teams are as equal as it gets. Nigeria have brilliant attacking players in Osimhen, Lookman, Iwobi, Moffi and Chukwueze, whereas the best Ivorian players are all defensive ones! It will be an interesting clash in the early-day heat between attack and defense. Ivorians are younger and less inexperienced, and it might be bad for today, good for the future.

At Nigeria the coach Peseiro knows he has a lot of attacking talent, and he fields always as many attacking players on the pitch as possible! There is however one major weakness, and it is the goalkeeper Uzoho from Cypriot club Omonia Nicosia. He is conceding goals he should not, but there is no decent backup either. I am afraid he will lose the title this time to some other team personally, with his own hands.

There are basically no team news or important changes on the injury front, but Nigeria are more likely to make some changes after their poor first-round result.

The home support is huge, yet it is also easily a distraction when things are not going well, and I expect a very difficult day for the hosts.
