Since Sporting won their game Benfica can't afford to lose here, they are in 2nd place and 4 points behind the leader Sporting but with a win here they will cut it to one point again. This Benfica team like I said many times ain't the same from last season but lately we are seen them playing much better and more collective football and they are looking way more dominant now than a couple months ago, the attack is finally producing more chances and because of that they are scoring more goals and it also helps that Cabral is finallly in shape and giving Benfica a big boost in the attack and Benfica has won their last 4 games and showed once again a nice game at home against Braga in the Cup with a 3:2 win. At home Benfica is usually dominant even when they were in bad shape, 5 wins and 2 draws in their 7 home games but like I said, right now Benfica is playing their best football of the season.

For this game Benfica is without Bah, Bernat, Neres and Tengstedt.

Rio Ave is coming of a very important home win over Portimonense by 2:0 who has put them in the safe spot, 15th place. It's kindar weird to see Rio Ave struggling like this because I think they have a better squad than fighting for surviving only but things are just not clicking there and especially on the road they are a very poor team this year, 3 draws and 4 losses and struggling even against weak teams and against the good one's they pratically had no chances, they lost to Sporting 0:2 on the road and 1:2 to Braga but in that Braga game the 1:2 doesn't really show what happened, Braga could have easily won by 4 or 5 goals in that game if they would have been effective and now Rio Ave is on the road again facing the best Benfica version of the season, so trouble ahead for Rio Ave here.

For this game Rio Ave is without Pereira.

I think Benfica have here a good chance to win this game easily by 2 or 3 goals, they are starting to get better each weak and their late performances have been rock solid and facing at home Rio Ave who struggles big time on the road and also is a team who likes to attack against the good teams will give Benfica many opportunaties to create many chances to score here, Rio Ave ain't a team who defends with 10 men like many teams, they have their style of play and the Coach rarely changes his tactics even in the big games, so overall, Benfica is peaking and playing better and some of their best players are finally getting in shape and because of that the wins are coming more naturally in compare to early in the season, I see Benfica getting the 3 points here and win here by 3:0 or 3:1.
