Torino VS Napoli

Torino welcome Napoli for this Italian Serie A round 19 battle at Stadio Olimpico di Torino in Turin late Sunday evening Beijing time. This is the fourth-best league on the planet. Football fans and us serious bettors - with a long-term profit in mind - can expect a match of better than average level by this league's standards here. Most importantly, my fans and I have yet another very promising betting opportunity to make a profit betting on the Serie A!  Napoli are the reigning champions of Italy but this season has been a big disappointment for this south Italian team. The main reason is losing their excellent head coach after the last season. We must also remember that many of Napoli's players clearly overperformed last season. As a result they reached an almost unstoppable "flow" in Serie A and did deserve to win the championship. Their biggest competitors (Inter Juventus and AC Milan), on the other hand, had a worse season than normal. I want to remind my fans that last season Napoli took many more points than they would have deserved in terms of expected points (xPTS). The very strong last season probably still affects the odds and we must oppose Napoli – once again. They currently occupy the 8th place in the standings with a decent 28 points in their pocket. However, the team in 1st place, Inter, have a whopping 48 points to their account already! Napoli's number of xPTS is somewhat higher though. Napoli's most important player – Victor Osimhen is on international duty with his country, Nigeria, in the legendary Africa Cup of Nations. Very few players in top-level football are as important for their team's success as Osimhen is to Napoli. Even last season Napoli's level dropped a lot when the massively talented Osimhen was injured. I believe the bookies fail to give Osimhen being out enough emphasis.. Frank Anguissa is on international duty too. Meret, Nata and Olivera are injured and Politano is questionable. The hosts are missing N'Guessan and Schuurs.

Napoli have lost two of their last three games and are in decline. Away from home they have lost three matches in a row! In their last game they faced Monza, a pretty limited team, at home and were disappointing – especially in terms of offensive creativity. They did record more in expected goals (xG) than Monza though – 1.77-1.28 to be precise. Napoli were priced around 1.55-1.60 to win on the betting market. Before this they were bad in Rome and lost 0-2 despite being narrow favourites according to the bookies at the time of kickoff. Napoli had 59% ball possession but generated only 0.74 in xG – Roma managed 1.87. The hosts also recorded many more goal attempts (17-7), shots on goal and shots off target. Furthermore, on the 19th of last month Frosinone humiliated the reigning champions in a cup game - in Napoli – winning 4-0 (!) as big underdogs! Napoli did not record even 0.50 in xG in this game! Yes, Napoli last scored a goal on the 16th of last month! Their level of confidence is surely not high at the moment. Torino, on the other hand, are in 11th place with 24 points to their account but their number of xPTS is 27.09. Their defense is very well-structured and stupid mistakes are few. I want to highlight that Torino have allowed three goals less than Napoli in Serie A this season! Their offense, on the other hand, is far from top-level as it lacks some speed and creativity. However, the Napoli offense in its current form, without Osimhen is not much better.. Torino have lost just one of their last five games. This happened in their most recent game, away from home against Fiorentina (0-1) -  as solid underdogs. The hosts were slightly better in this game but with a little bit of luck Torino, too, could have won the game.. At home Torino have lost just one of their last 14 games - (during the 90 minutes of play). Torino have strong chance to take at least a point here!
