CELTA - BETIS

Celta is once again overpriced by bookmakers.

Although they have been very unlucky and deserve more points, they have also delivered some terrible performances recently, such as against Villarreal or Rayo Vallecano.

The team appears to have a mental problem, and there are issues with the coach, who changes lineups every weekend and makes some peculiar decisions. Some players seem to be unhappy with him, but the club can't terminate his contract due to the high salary he is earning, and the financial implications of breaking the contract earlier.

Celta has won only 2 games and scored 18 goals in 18 rounds so far. With half of the season played and only 2 victories, we can agree that the team is where they deserve to be.

Their defense is a real problem as they are unable to keep a clean sheet without conceding chances. They attempted a defensive game against Rayo Vallecano, hoping for a 0:0 draw, which turned out to be an absolute miracle as they conceded a lot.

The midfield is also weak in dominating games, and after 18 rounds, I am still trying to understand Celta's plan because they have shown nothing.

On the other hand, Betis is a very competitive and difficult-to-beat team. With only 2 defeats so far and just 18 goals conceded, they possess experience, quality, and a great coach with a clear plan, resulting in excellent team performance. While they may struggle to secure victories at times, they are one of the most challenging teams to beat in La Liga. Neither leaders Girona nor Real Madrid managed to defeat them, as both defeats occurred at the beginning of the season in August. Since then, they have remained unbeaten in La Liga.

However, Betis still needs points, sitting 3 points below the European positions (6th position), and this season many teams are involved in the fight for those spots. They need to secure more points and, especially, victories, as they have achieved only 6 so far.

Upfront, they are facing challenges in scoring goals with only 20 scored, but they have quality, and it's just a matter of time. Their strikers are currently in poor form, but once they start scoring, they won't stop.

I don't see any reason to favor Celta in this match. The guests have much more quality, and I don't see Celta equipped with the necessary weapons to beat one of the most competitive sides in La Liga.

GRANADA - CADIZ

A very important game for relegation, and I see Cadiz much more prepared for this.

Granada is one of the worst teams in the league. They have one of the weakest squads, lacking motivation, and delivering very poor performances. The team looks as if it's already relegated, given their dreadful displays in their recent games (0:3 against Sevilla, 1:0 against Celta).

They have lost 8 of the last 10 games (as well as 2 draws), including a Cup match against an amateur team from the 5th category. Their main issue is in defense, where the level is simply not sufficient for La Liga, resulting in conceding a lot of chances. They are unable to keep a clean sheet, making it impossible to earn points or win games. They have signed a new defender in this winter transfer window - Bruno Mendez, who is injured for this match.

Their current balance is 1 win, 5 draws, and 12 defeats. The only victory came in the third round (August) against Mallorca, which was four months ago.

With only 8 points so far, they would need at least 30 in the second half of the season, numbers typically associated with a TOP6 team. This is impossible for a team like Granada, so they lack motivation and confidence, knowing they are almost relegated.

On the other hand, Cadiz is a specialist team in these relegation situations. They lack quality but have a plan and a great coach, making them a very competitive team in these scenarios. They know very well how to approach these kinds of games and rarely fail.

Furthermore, they have been playing well recently, being difficult to beat: unbeaten in the last 5 with important results such as a draw against Real Sociedad. They have managed to avoid defeat and played well in crucial games recently against teams like Celta (1:1) or Mallorca (1:1).

I see Cadiz with much more justification to win here. They'll have less pressure and more experience, making them capable of handling Granada's pressure. Granada, playing at home, currently faces problems as fans are discontent with the situation and players' attitude. For me, this is the perfect game for Cadiz to showcase their experience in such situations and take advantage of the rival's nerves.

GIRONA - ATLETICO

Girona is performing at a really high level, but I see them struggling in this match.

They are in great form and full of confidence, sitting at the top of the table with the same number of points as Real Madrid, having suffered only 1 defeat in 18 games and scoring 42 goals.

One of the strongest aspects of this team is coach Michel, as Girona appears to be a well-worked team with numerous alternatives to create chances, attack, and apply pressure. They consistently find players in advantageous positions to make passes and initiate attacks, displaying versatility depending on the opponents.

Moreover, when combined with their squad, which lacks no quality, this team resembles an offensive machine that is challenging to stop. However, Betis managed to do so last weekend, employing similar tactics to Atletico: a top-tier coach (Pellegrini) capable of deciphering Michel's strategies, quality, good pace, a physical team, and a solid defense. The significant difference lies in Atletico's formidable attack.

I anticipate Atletico improving further throughout the rest of the season. They are known for elevating their performances in the second half of the season, having prepared physically for this period.

Their attackers Morata and Griezmann are in excellent form, creating and converting numerous chances. While their defensive performance has been weaker this year, conceding more than usual, their potent attack compensates for it, ranking among the best in recent years.

Moreover, due to the intense competition for the TOP4, they cannot afford to drop points, as Athletic (5th) is just 3 points behind them.

Although it's currently challenging to bet against Girona, I believe Atletico is one of the teams capable of defeating them. Tactically adept, offensive prowess, and physical readiness to deny spaces and match Girona's pace make this a difficult test for Girona.

I see this match resembling the Girona - Athletic encounter, where Girona struggled and settled for a 1:1 draw in a closely contested match.
