Valur is without any doubt the best team in Iceland in the last 5 years. After an easy title win last season, Valur is starting their new season with the same ambitions and that is to defend a title. Valur won the last game against their city rival KR Reykjavík in a cup game after penalties, it was 3-3 in the regular part. They are amazing to run of 28 games without defeat in all competitions and the last game they lost was against today's rival Akranes 4-1 at home in June 2020, despite total domination of Valur. Today they have a chance to get their revenge and I think they will be fired up for this game. Akranes enter a new season with ambitions to stay in it and I think they will be very pleased if they don't suffer a big defeat here. They lost their last game against Kefalik away 4-1 and their defence was really bad allowing easy goals from the host, all 4 in the second half. I think Valur will want a strong start of the season so everything expects a huge win for the host will be a big surprise here. Goals are expected here so Valur to win and over 3.5 goals look like a sure bet. If you feel lucky you should try Valur to score over 1.5 goals in the first half or even over 2.5.
