Villarreal has some absences, but this can't be an excuse for this team and the new coach, Marcelino. I believe that this squad, with this coach, has the potential to improve, and the matches against Osasuna (3:1) and Rennes (2:3) were the best examples.

However, they delivered poor performances against top teams, being totally outplayed by Real Sociedad and Real Madrid, which is logical given the quality of their rivals and their current good form.

They are coming from two consecutive defeats, so I'm expecting a reaction here. If they lose this match, they will finish the year and head into the Christmas break in the relegation zone. They have a strong squad, built to compete in three tournaments (Liga + Cup + Europa League), so the absences should be well replaced with other players.

Celta is having a terrible season this year, although they are playing well, they seem to have a mental problem, and the coach is making some strange decisions with the lineups, showing a lack of confidence in the players and still without a clear plan. They have won just two games this season so far, both by struggling a lot: one in the last round against the relegation team Granada and another one on September 1st against Almeria, who is at the bottom. So, they have won against just the two last teams in the table.

In their last away game against Rayo, they decided to play defensively and it was awful, without creating a single chance (0.13 xG) and conceding a lot. I think that they will do the same here, and Villarreal has much more quality upfront than Rayo, who missed many chances, and Celta's goalkeeper Guaita was the MVP.

Celta will be missing their best player, Iago Aspas, too.

In the previous away game to Rayo (Valencia), they also played defensively (0:0), parking the bus. So I’m sure they’ll do the same here, and given Villarreal's quality upfront, they will concede. Villarreal has scored 23 goals so far, the highest number in the league among all teams outside the European positions (7th to 20th).

Although both teams aren't in their best situation, I see Villarreal with a better plan for this fixture (at least they'll dominate it) and with much more quality, especially upfront. Celta's performances have been terrible lately, while Villarreal has shown promise in some games under this new coach, as mentioned before.
