However, they are missing Abraham, Dybala, Kumbulla, Lulaku, Smalling and Zaleeski. Azmoun and Spinazzola are questionable at the time of writing this preview. The bookies have clearly overreacted to these absences. Of course missing both Lukaku and Dybala hurts Roma's offense but Belotti is still a decent striker.. However, Roma will surely be pretty defensive here. The goal expectancy here is even lower than the bookies estimate. The probability of under 2.5 goals to be scored is 70%. As for the hosts the list of absentees is long as well. Bonifazi, Corazza, De Silvestri, El Azzouzi, Karlsson, Orsolini and Soumaoro are out.

In their last game Roma crushed Sheriff Tiraspol 3-0 at home. It was an UEFA Europa League round 6 clash. Roma generated 2.98 in xG – the visitors managed only 0.41. I also want to mention that according to a well-known and respected German website Roma are a much bigger club than Bologna. Indeed, the visitors' squad has an estimated market value of 362 million euros. This is more or less correct. The Bologna squad is valued at only around 166 million. This is a little too high in my expert opinion. They are in 6th place in the standings with 25 points in their pocket. They have scored only 18 goals. Even Sassuolo, currently in 15th place, have scored 22 goals. Bologna's offense lacks individual skill, speed and passing accuracy. Indeed, I have them only in 10th place in my power rating. This rating reflects the teams' pure class with the best possible starting eleven. They will surely struggle to break Roma's defence here.. Their number of xPTS is 23.12. They have defended better than I would have expected in my preseason analysis but their number of xGA is significantly higher – 16.76 to be precise. In their last game they beat Salernitana, the rock-bottom team, 2-1 away from home as very clear favourites – priced around 1.80 to take all three points by the bookies. It was not an impressive performance despite the fact that Bologna generated more in xG. Salernitana even recorded many more corner kicks (5-1) and dangerous attacks – 38-31.The biggest bookies with the largest stake limits see Bologna as solid favourites – offering them odds of only around 2.35-2.40. This is much too low! With the expected lineups I do not see a favourite in this game. We will take the Roma +0.5 goals handicap option!
