Mark Sykes will probably continue at right-back for Bristol City as they welcome Ipswich Town on Wednesday as Nigel Pearson’s limited squad options remain roughly the same as they did over the weekend.

Sykes started the 1-0 victory over Coventry City as a right wing-back, in what proved a near-disastrous switch to a 3-5-2, before moving to an orthodox full-back role as Pearson reverted to a more familiar 4-2-3-1 towards the end of the first half.

With George Tanner remaining out due to an ankle injury and Taylor Gardner-Hickman required in midfield due to Joe Williams’ calf problem, Sykes - who has lined up for nine of his 10 Championship starts this season as a right winger - is likely to be in defence once again.

Bristol City are still fighting for a place in the TOP 6 while Ipswich Town look forward to be stabilized at the second place, only after Leicester City.

Ipswich Town seem to be on a higher level than most rivals. They’ve scored 25 goals so fare against 15 of Bristol City.
