This match already feels like a must-win game for both teams as they look to qualify from Group B into the next stage of the Champions League. With Lens unexpectedly leading and PSV also involved, it's actually one of the harder groups with some talented clubs involved.

While Sevilla don’t carry the status of Barcelona or Real Madrid they are well known for being successful in Europe, even if it’s the continent’s second tier of competition. They have managed to win the Europa League seven times in the past 18 years, most recently last year. However, the Champions is a different story for them - they have won just two of their last 15 UCL games.

Sevilla’s strength in the UEL is one of the reasons that Arsenal would have looked at them in Group B, and this away game in particular, as a tricky game and one that would probably be their biggest test in the group. Following that 2-1 defeat to Lens in their last UCL game, it's now made this road trip even more important. I do expect them to handle business here and backing them with my best bet.

I actually think Arsenal's 2-2 draw with Chelsea on Saturday is indicative of a mental toughness and resilience that Arsenal have developed in the past 18-24 months that simply wasn’t there previously. They are now a team of winners, something that couldn’t be said for a long time. They’ll need that against Sevilla, who have real pedigree in Europe.

And while Sevilla are well known for being near ever-presents in the knockout stages of the Europa League, they don’t have the same record in the Champions League as said and are struggling domestically at the moment.

In La Liga they are showing a weak attack, a vulnerable defence, and a midfield who is not able to control the games. They have had only two games to nil this season so far (12 played), which were against Las Palmas (worst attack of the league) and Osasuna (who generated 1.41 expected goals).

Sergio Ramos is a good transfer, and the 37-year-old should continue alongside Gudelj, Marcos Acuña and Jesús Navas in an experienced, battle-hardened backline. But Sevilla’s starting lineups in the Champions League this season have had an average age of 30 years and 343 days – the oldest in the tournament. And this fact against a high pace team like Arsenal is a real trouble.

Their history in Europe is scary but Arsenal should have no fear of a team who are 13th in La Liga, having won just two of their nine games. They’ve allowed more than a goal per game, something we haven’t traditionally seen from them in Europe where they’ve won through defensive stability and organization.

Arsenal will be relying on striker Jesus to continue his Champions League hot streak, who already scored in the games against PSV and Lens. Jesus will likely be flanked by Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka, with the latter returning from injury to assist Arsenal’s equaliser against Chelsea, taking him to 11 goal involvements in all competitions this season (five goals, six assists). Three of those (one goal, two assists) have come in the Champions League.

As much as this is a big game and one that is tough on paper, I think it’s one which the Gunners should comfortably win. After a six-year absence from the tournament, would be a big failure if they don't manage even to qualify to ⅛ finals in an affordable group on paper, without any big team involved.
