Scotland are already qualified for the final phase of the Euro, the country is struggling to digest the elimination of the others, those of rugby, in the quarter-finals of their World Cup.

On a sporting level, the evening offers the opportunity to look forward to more encouraging collective prospects and to see to what extent Didier Deschamps' French team has a reservoir of quality. It was not obvious in Germany (1-2) , a month earlier.

But the coach is not in the habit of refusing the obstacle and he intends to take advantage of this second friendly meeting of the season to see some of them at work again. Scalded by the defeat in Dortmund, Deschamps will not change his eleven from top to bottom but he could make at least four to five changes.

The question is whether France will go for a win. Everybody knows that Scotland are qualified and they are weak, but what if France don’t go for a big win? It’s a FRIENDLY match.
