Politehnica Iasi welcome FC Botosani to their Stadionul Emil Alexandrescu for a round of league match in the Romania Divizia A on Monday evening. A place separate both teams as the two bottom teams face off in the battle of Relegation group. Politehnica Iasi are currently placed on the 15th position with six points after seven games played in the league. Meanwhile, Botosani are a place below their current opponents as they occupy the last place in the league table with four points, and have played a game more than Politehnica. They drew Hermannstadt 2-2 in their last league outing after having trailed them by a goal down heading into the second period of the game. For this encounter, I am expecting a win or a draw for Botosani for the following reasons:

Firstly. Politehnica are not on a good run of form presently. They have lost four of their last six matches in all competitions, and they were on a four-game losing streak before their victory in their last game. They have not been able to win any game on their home ground, losing all the home games they have played this season. They have a very porous defence at the moment, and have conceded more goals than they have scored in their last seven outings in the league. Things are not looking up for them at the moment.

Secondly. FC Botosani are in almost similar situation as Politehnica. They have scored and conceded just as much as their current opponents in their league games. Usually a very strong side, but they have been wobbly since the start of this season. They are however unbeaten in three of their last four games in all competitions, with a win the Cup competition and two draws in the league. They are yet to win a game in the league this season, and this will be the perfect opportunity to get one as they face a team that they know how to beat in the past.

Botosani might be struggling at the moment as their opponents, but they do have a 100% winning record over them in their last six meetings, dating all the way back to 2019. A draw is a most likely outcome considering that both teams are in a similar condition, but Botosani will have the edge to get a win if things go their way this evening. So, it is a win or a draw for Botosani for me.
