KFUM Oslo welcome Hodd to this Norwegian OBOS-Ligaen round 20 battle very early Thursday morning Beijing time. This is the second tier of Norwegian football but it is of relatively modest level by European standards. It has, however, improved quite a lot in the last approximately 10 years – mainly thanks to a lot of oil and natural gas money that has flooded into Norway – including football.. Hodd were promoted to this level for this season and are currently in 15th place in the standings. They have a total of 17 points to their account but their number of xPTS is 21.39. They occupy the 13th place in my power rating. Their offense is not great for this level – as I suspected in my in-depth preseason analysis. Even so, they can improve a little in this area of the game as the season progresses. Their number of xG is 22.12 but in reality they have netted the ball just 18 times in this league so far this season.. Their offense unarguably lacks individual skill and creativity but the structure is okay. They do, however, defend in an organized way and fight hard for every loose ball. They have allowed the same number of goals as KFUM (25) and will surely be very defensive here, especially early on. Even if the hosts were to take the lead Hodd will probably not change their tactic a lot.. The goal expectancy here is lower than the bookies believe. Based on my strongly data-based expert analysis the probability of under 2.5 total goals to be scored is 54%. Hodd took a 2-0 win over Skeid at home in their most recent match and did deserve the three points. The visitors only managed one shot on target – Hodd recorded four. Once again Hodd proved that they can defend very well! Hodd also recorded many more goal attempts - 12-5 – and shots off goal – 8-4. This win was surely a big boost to their confidence! Before this they were unlucky to lose to Bryne 1-2 away from home as clear underdogs. They recorded many more shots on goal as well as goal attempts. KFUM have taken many wins lately but in many cases have also had some luck on their side which has led to overvaluation on the betting market..  In their most recent match Ranheim beat them 4-2 – exposing KFUM's defensive problems.. KFUM were clear favorites in this game according to the bookies - priced around 2.10 to win.. It is true that Ranheim did not deserve to win by a margin of two goals but KFUM's performance was still far from impressive!
