Unfortunately, they had to let a goal pass them by at the end, and there was no clean sheet. What was particularly interesting about Arsenal's backline was that Gabriel didn't start. The center-back had until the match started 78 consecutive games under manager Arteta, and it remains to be seen whether he will be back in starting eleven when the team face Crystal Palace this Monday. Other players won't play including Elneny, G. Jesus and new signing Timber, so Arteta will try to find a way to fix those holes, especially in Timber's position. Crystal Palace opened league play by beating Sheffield United away from home. Manager Hodgson remains in the coaching position, even though he had previously retired and probably only intended to coach the team through the season this spring. Hodgson is one of the old-school managers and I don't believe he will leave space for fast Arsenal attackers. Crystal Palace will defend for sure and they will wait for their chances to counter-attack and hurt Arsenal from transition. Arsenal is big favorite but I don't think they will have easy task here. This is a derby and we saw today in the game West Ham-Chelsea that the home field plays a really important factor. Crystal Palace is good squad and I believe Arsenal won't win with more than a goal difference.
