JäPS vs HIFK

JäPs welcome visitors from the capital of my home county, Helsinki, for this Finnish Ykkönen at Järvenpään keskuskenttä battle at OmaSP Stadion in the small city of Järvenpä late Saturday evening Beijing time. This league is - as a whole - of lvery ow level by European standards. Many players are not even professional footballers. Football fans and us serious football bettors can expect a match of medicore level between these two strong teams! Most importantly, we have yet another very lucrative betting opportunity here! As I have written before, even the biggest bookies put much more resources on the biggest leagues played in the summer - for example the Brazilian Serie A, the Argentinian Liga Pro - or the MLS where even Leo Messi now plays for Inter Miami -  and often overlook Ykkönen and Veikkausliiga, the highest tier of Finnish football. This frequently leads to frequent mistakes with the odds they offer! HIFK currently occupy the 6th place in the Ykkönen standings with a 24 points to their account. There is no denying the fact that they have been a slight disappointing this season. However, their number of expected points (xPTS) is 25.89. On a good day they can easily beat any team in Ykkönen but they have also played some really bad games – especially early this season. ”Erratic” would be a word that describes them well. Even so, they have a strong squad by Ykkönen standards and have potential to improve - in all areas of the game. They have struggled with their offense a lot this season but have now scored a total of eight goals in their most recent two games! Indeed, things really look better for them now!

I want to, once again, mention Paulus Arajuuri, ” the blond giant” at the center of the HIFK defense. He played for the Finnish national team for a long time and played with them in the EURO 2020 two years ago. He is perhaps even ”too good” for this level. His salary is paid by a sponsor and is not included in the publicly announced player budget – before the season kicked off. Taking this into account HIFK have a much bigger players salary budget than JäPS. They have an edge over the hosts in all areas of the game. Despite the offensive problems HIFK have scored 24 goals in Ykkönen so far. Their number of expected goals (xG) is 23.12. JäPS have scored a pathetic 16 goals and have also allowed many more goals than HIFK who have the third-best defense in Ykkönen in my expert opinion. Let's not forget that they played in Veikkausliiga for years before being relegated after a horrible last season.. Furthermore, a good number of loud HIFK fans have traveled to Järvenpää. Indeed, the home advantage is very small here. The bookies, weirdly, see JäPS as favorites here – offering them odds of around 2.40-2.50. With the expected lineps I cannot agree with the bookmakers. HIFK deserve to be slim favorites here. They beat JJK 4-2 at home in their most recent game and deserved the three points. Before this they crushed KPV away from home 4-0 and did not alllow KPV any shots on goal. I want to mention that LPV are better than the league table reflects. JäPS have been poor lately and have won just one of their latest 10 games. KPV beat them 3-0 in Järvenpää a week ago. What a horrible result.
