They have a good squad with some impressing players, and also a very competitive spirit. Maybe they don't have the same quality as other top teams in the tournament, but have a lot of intensity, pressure and players with fast pace.

They also have experience at international level, having won the African Champions 11 times and appearing in the World Cups more than any other team of their continent.

In the previous game against Canada we bet on their handicap +2 and made a very good performance, with a goalless draw. They defended resolutely and frustrated the Olympic champions to get a deserved clean sheet.

They had 22-year-old goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie to thank for the result as she denied Canada veteran Christine Sinclair from the penalty spot with a brilliant save to salvage a point for the Nigerians.

Barcelona striker Asisat Oshoala is someone Tony Gustavsson’s side cannot afford to give space or time to. She has a very good pace, dribbling ability and goal (she was Barcelona’s top scorer last season), with 30 goals in 41 appearances added to the 21 she made in the league, scoring almost in every single match.

For this fixture they’ll miss the midfielder Deborah Abiodun due to a red card, but I still believe that we’ll see a very competitive version of Nigeria.

On the other hand, Australia started the tournament with a solid (but suffered, as won only 1:0 thanks to a penalty) victory over Ireland, which was expected.

They are under a lot of pressure. Their main player is Chelsea’s Sam Kerr, who’s one of the best strikers in the world. But she is injured, couldn’t play against Ireland and their absence is a huge blow for the team, as she has no replacement (at least with the same quality).

Aside from Kerr, Arsenal’s Caitlin Foord offers another goal threat, while Manchester City’s Mary Fowler is one of the young players to look out for because she’s incredibly talented.

Australia are also strong in the full-back positions with Ellie Carpenter and Steph Catley solid defenders who are good going forward too, so I see them as a well-balanced team that could go far.

Australia is favorite, that’s right, has a bit more quality and the home advantage, but I’m expecting a very competitive version of Nigeria. I expected the same against Canada and they confirmed there that they are a very difficult team to beat and after the draw in the first leg, this match is key for them if they want to have chances to qualify to ⅛ finals.

A very well-drilled Nigeria will not make things any easier for the co-hosts in this fixture, and are totally able to get at least a draw here. Australia could win of course, but I dont see it easily or by a big goals difference.
