Dinamo Bucuresti host Universitatea for this Romanian Liga 1 round 1 battle at Stadionul Dinamo early Tuesday morning Beijing time. However, I believe this factor has been given too much emphasis on the betting market. At the time of writing this analysis early Monday morning odds of around 1.70 on the visitors to take all three points are widely available. However, unless new, unexpected info concerning the starting lineups/ injuries appear.  I expect the odds on U. Craiova to go down before the kickoff as smart money is expected to pile up on the visitors. I see them having an at least 65% chance of winning this clash.

The visitors have played five friendlies, taking three wins and losing twice. As my fans know I do not give friendlies too much emphasis but at least they are in pretty good form and should feel confident here. They also have a good coach! U. Craiova beat a dangerous Bulgarian team, Slavia Sofia, in their most recent game 3-2. They did not take many wins late into last season but we must remember that they mainly faced strong teams in the Championship Group. Ther performances were good or at least satisfactory in almost all 10 games in the group. The hosts have played just three preseason friendlies and lost two of these games. Dynamo Kyiv crushed them 4-1 in their latest game, on the 5th of this month. The last time Dinamo București and Univ. Craiova locked horns the latter took an amazing 6-1 win – away from home! This match was played in 2022 though. Moreover, they have beaten Dinamo Bucuresti six times in a row – often with a margin of several goals! The hosts finished only in the 4th place in the Liga 2 Promotion Group with a total of 46 points. It was not an overly impressive season and they only won two of the last five games in Liga 2.. Furthermore, they managed to grab more points than they would have deserved in terms of expected points. Lastly I want to mention that the difference between Liga 1 and Liga 2 is huge and I expect the hosts to struggle with the pace and the skills the opponents have in Liga 1!
