They do have a better defensive record than a lot of teams above them. Their major problem has been scoring goals, and hopefully that is going to improve as they play against the second worst defensive team in the league.

Secondly. Varbergs are the only team in the league who are yet to win a single game. They lost to Djurgarden in their last match by conceding two goals. And, they have scored the least goals in the league since the start of the campaign, with only a total of eight goals. Varbergs are only playing their fourth consecutive season in the Swedish top flight. They went through a play-off last year to ensure their safety in the top flight, but the way things are going, they could be heading for automatic relegation this time around. Varbergs are without a clean sheet in their last nine games and they are unlikely to finish Monday’s game without conceding; and they have lost seven of their last eight games

Goteborg have suffered seven defeats this season, but have shown some defensive stability in recent games. Jens Berthel Askou’s men conceded a total of just three goals in their last four games. Goteborg have lost only one of their last four home games, a 1-0 loss to Mjallby, and they could secure a second victory on their turf tonight against a Varbergs side that do not play well on the road. I am expecting a win for the home team from this encounter.
