Belgium, meanwhile, shared the spoils in a goalless draw with neighbours Netherlands in their opener. The draw left them joint-second in Group A on one point, while Georgia lead the group with three points. This will be the first meeting between the two teams. I am expecting a win for Belgium U21s for the following reasons:

Firstly. Georgia surprisingly claimed victory over Portugal in their first U-21 game. The Portuguese were runners-up last time out in 2021, which made Georgia's victory even more impressive. The Georgians have a raucous home support behind them, and they will be banking on this support to register another impressive result. A win for Georgia will see them book their spot in the knockouts. But I do not see that happening. They are most likely going to play a defensive game like they did against Portugal. They are not going to take risks, and this will play into the hands of the young Belgians.

Secondly. Belgium, for their part, had to settle for a share of the spoils in their opener and will look for victory to avoid falling behind in the race for qualification. Belgium lacked an attacking edge against the Netherlands and will have to up the ante in attack if they're to get anything. No fewer than 32 shots flew towards both number ones in their game against Netherlands, 18 for Belgium and 14 for the Netherlands, but they could not find the back of the net. Considering that Georgia are most likely to play a defensive game, Belgium will need to be more clinical with their chances on Saturday evening.

With Georgia aiming for a fourth successive clean sheet and Belgium only conceding in one of their last four games in all competitions, this encounter is bound to be a closely-fought one. But I expect Belgium to be able to carve out a win for themselves considering they need to win the game to stand a better chance of making it out of the group, and they do have a stronger team than their opponents.
