In my opinion Uruguay have all required tools to win gold medal in today’s final.

Italy plays at home, but I believe this is huge pressure on young players shoulders because everyone expects their win and for sure is is not easy situation to handle. Uruguay coming here with more freedom.

If You look on the bigger picture – Uruguay plays better in this tournament than Italy, no doubt about that. Uruguay lost against England in first match of group stage, but that wasn’t deserved result at all: expected goals scored for Uruguay 2.83, for England 0.51. That was cold shower for the team and their improvement at the back in next matches was amazing. Uruguay not conceded a single goal in all 4 matches on the road to the final. They produced really deserved wins – in each game Uruguay had higher expected goals scored number than their opponents. They have a lot of stability at the back, but they are also very creative and dangerous in attack: almost 10 expected goals scored in 5 matches.

On the other hand Italy doesn’t looked convincing in last matches for me. They won against England, but they had lower expected goals scored number than opponents. They won against South Korea, but they had lower expected goals scored number than opponents. Their defensive formation is not so table, they conceded at least one goal in last 3 matches in a row.

For me Uruguay is more complete team and without so big pressure on their shoulders they are ready to grab gold medal at the end of the day.
