All of a sudden MP are the top of 2nd highest tier in Finland, Ykkönen. They are a team who weakened a lot since last season, at least on paper, and as well their preseason campaign. Look at their run of results just a few months ago, and the team is the same without major improvements in personnel.

What has happened?

First of all, they have entered a positive spin after some lucky results in the start, then recently the opponents have been the wealest ones.

In a bigger picture I do not see MP as a top-4 side and their results will regret to the mean sooner or later, probably starting today when they host this league's absolutely best team EIF.

The only possible weakness of the EIF side is the depth, the bench is not strong, but in the staring lineup there are several players who should - and will - play in the higher league.

Last time around the very defensively-minded HIFK fought a 0-0 draw vs EIF, and the previous round v KäPa away was a thriller with an extra-time goal needed for the win, but as MP have no such strengths as those clubs I see EIF winning this easily tonight.
