They have won just two of the ten away games in J2 League. With this record they are only the 17th best away team in this league with a total of 22 clubs. Furthermore, they have lost three away games in a row. Before these three games they took on Tokushima, not a strong club, away from home and it was a disappointing 1-1 draw. S-Pulse only recorded one shot on target! They were priced around 1.60 on the betting market to take all three points. This match was yet another example of them being clearly overestimated bookies!

The visitors are currently only in 10th place which is extremely surprising and disappointing - in my opinion and the same is probably true with most football analysts and the bookies.. I have been forced to significantly lower their power rating that reflects the teams' pure class from my in-depth preseason analysis. It is almost certain that they will significantly climb up the standings. However, I do not expect a clear, fast improvement.. There are rumors about some players not getting along very well and about the team spirit being ”sour” to say the least.. Their defense is, however, not top-level in this league at the moment.   Yes, they are clearly the better team here by pure class but at the moment the difference with the expected lineups is only moderate. 

Even so, despite their struggles away from home they deserve to be solid favorites but the odds of around 1.85 offered by the bookies at the time of writing this analysis Saturday evening Beijing time is massively to low! Well, my fans know that the bookies often make mistakes with their odds on Japanese football.  Kumamoto have a 58% chance of taking at least a point and bringing my fans and me yet another winner! Unless some unexpected news about the starting eleven of each team appears I expect the odds on the recommended bet, +0.5 goals handicap on Kumamoto to drop as sharp money should pile up on the hosts.. Kumamoto crushed Iwaki on Wednesday 4-0 away from home – also in an Emperor's Cup battle. It was an impressive performance! Kumamoto recorded nine shots on goal - the hosts managed just two. The match was expected to be a somewhat balanced one by the bookies but it was far from that! Kumamoto had 60% ball possession and also recorded many more goal attempts, total passses, completed passes and dangerous attacks. This was yet another example of the bookies reacting too heavily on Kumamoto's disappointing start to the season and the consequent undervaluation..
