JäPS vs Jaro

JäPS welcome Jaro for this Finnish Ykkönen battle at Järvenpään Keskuskenttä in Järvenpää late Saturday evening Beijing time. This is the second tier of my home country's football but the level is very low by European standards. The difference compared to Veikkausliiga is substantial. Most players are not even full-time footballers in Ykkönen. As a Finnish professional football bettor I know all the teams and players in Ykkönen and Veikkausliiga, the first tier, very well - the bookmakers, on the other hand, pretty often seem to make some mistakes with their odds in both Veikkausliiga and in Ykkönen. I am convinced that we have yet another very interesting betting opportunity here. I watch every single Ykkönen game– many games live at the stadium. JäPS have grabbed six points and currently occupy the 8th place in the standings in this league with a total of 12 clubs.. This is also their place in my power ratings that illustrates the teams' pure class. JäPS have netted the ball six times in as many Ykkönen games so far this season. However, in terms of expected goals they would have deserved 6.78 goals. Their offense has been a little worse than I estimated in my in-depth preseason analysis. It has lacked speed, creativity and passing accuracy near the opponents' goal. As a result it has often been relatively easy for the opponent to defend successfully. Their defense, on the other hand, has rather unsurprisingly, been pretty leaky. Their somewhat inexperienced defenders – as well as midfielders - in many games – make too many silly mistakes. I see them having only a little room for improvement and do not fully trust their coach  in terms of tactics or skills to lead the team..Their players salary budget is just 120 000 euros and they are a pretty small team in terms of financial resources for this level. 

JäPS were promoted from Kakkonen to Ykkönen for last season. Jaro are a traditional team in Finland and have played even in Veikkausliiga for many seasons in the past. Their goal is to be promoted to the first tier next season. Well, this will probably not happen as there are many teams that have the same goal but overall they are a much bigger club and have better players than JäPS! They have one of the biggest players salary budgets in Ykkönen – approximately 220 ooo euros. They have been disappointing so far this season and are currently in 9th place in the league table but I have them in 4th place in my power rating. They have just five points in the pocket but in terms of expected points they would have deserved much more! Let's not forget that last season they finished in 4th place in the Ykkönen Championship Group, just five points behind KTP who were promoted to Veikkausliiga. They grabbed 50 points last season – JäPS managed to take just 34 points. Not that much has, after all, changed for this season.. JäPS were poor in their latest game and lost to HIFK 0-2 away from home recording just one shot on target. Jaro, on the other hand, beat a decent team KPV in their most recent match 1-0 at home. Jaro defended very well and fully deserved the three points. The bookies see the hosts as favorites here, odds available are around 2.40 for them to win.. In my opinion Jaro, with the big potential they have, should be the favorites!
