ARMINIA BIELEFELD - PADERBORN

These odds are a complete joke, in my opinion.

Paderborn is currently the best team in the league. They are also the leading side in many statistics in BL2, like the highest ball possession, the highest completed pass rate, the most goals through set pieces and the best ball-winning stats. Technically, they are also the best team in the league, even though it's close with Hamburg, but whatever.

The only reason why Paderborn likely won't promote was a crisis at the end of the first half of the campaign and massive injury worries in February/March.

Now they are 5th on the table almost without chances for playoff (as are 6 points below with 2 games remaining to play), but still their mood and form is very positive. With 66 goals scored, they have the second best attack in the whole league.

So now they have to travel to Bielefeld, the 16th rank in the table. Yes, Bielefeld don't belong there, yes they will be fully motivated and yes, they have clearly improved since the manager change. But no way they are favourites against Paderborn. They are one of the worst teams in the league - are in the relegation playoff, 2 points below safe zone, with bad performances and a terrible defense: with 56 goals conceded so far they have the third worst defense in the whole league.

Concerning motivation, we must not forget that Bielefeld is Paderborn's biggest rival (derby), Paderborn will be accompanied by 3000 fans, and Paderborn still has a theoretical chance of achieving promotion. Additionally, the situation that they will likely not promote hasn't stopped them from showing a great display against 2nd ranked Heidenheim on Sunday (3:2) who was fighting for the title and to maintain their playoff position.

ATHLETIC - CELTA

Athletic should be able to win here.

They are in really bad form, far from their best level. But they have a lot of potential, and I’m sure they will improve in the last rounds of the season. Have the target of achieving European positions and I believe they will do it. Right now they are 8th on the table, one point below Girona who has the Conference League position.

Are coming from 4 games winless with poor performances, which is strange in a quality and competitive team like this one. But the target of Europa which was known by club, players and coach since the beginning of the season is mandatory, and a relegation team like Girona can’t steal them that position.

Furthermore I'm expecting a high motivation here, as are coming from a huge defeat 5:1 against Villarreal, so players will react and show again their best level. And the rival is perfect for that.

Celta is right now the worst team in the league. Even worse than bottom and relegated side Elche. Not only in results (5 defeats in last 6 games, winning only against Elche 1:0 scoring at 92’), also in performances and sensations. The team is physically dead, have no motivation and mentally are blocked. They looked already in the safe zone, thinking of holidays after a difficult season… but now they are in trouble and the players are blocked.

In each game we see zero solutions by the team. Key players (Iago Aspas, Veiga) are totally out of form, the team is creating zero chances, while in defense are conceding a lot of goals and chances from mistakes.

They are 5 points above safe zone and probably will need 1 or two more to avoid relegation at the end of the season, but their current sensations are terrible on all aspects: quality, physically and mentally.

Furthermore, for this match they have important missings: best player and topscorer Iago Aspas (injured), and one of the best players in the last rounds - midfielder Tapia, who is suspended.

I see Athletic strongly favorite here.
