Firstly. Grenoble have been poor in form recently. A streak of recent bad results has got them losing all hope of making the promotion to the Top division. After their win against Stade Laval in the opening weeks of April, they have gone ahead to lose four matches, and sandwiched in between the defeats is another solitary win against Chamois Niortais. Four losses in their last six games have got them trailing the top two positions by 16 points. Luckily, their recent poor form has not put them in danger of relegation, because they had long before now gained a healthy advantage over other threatened teams.

Secondly. Rodez are really putting in the effort and making the push for safety in recent weeks. They were not very good at the beginning of the season, hence why they find themselves in their current dire situation trying to avoid relegation. But, since their 2-0 defeat to Bastia in February, they have put up a string of good results to keep them on track of avoiding relegation. They have gone on to win six, drawn two, and lost just two of their last ten games. They are in a better form at the moment, and are better motivated to get a result from this game.

With Grenoble not in a good form and not fighting for anything at the moment, they might be less motivated than their opponents who have got everything to play for, and are on a good momentum. Only a straight win would have been on the cards for Rodez, but since they will be playing away at Grenoble's home ground where they have been fairly strong, a win or a draw will be the likely outcomes.
