Aalesund have started the season in the worst possible way. The problems don’t seem to be resolved.

Stabæk did not have a single finish on goal at home against Sarpsborg 08 last Sunday, and they were not put to the big tests defensively either. They still conceded after a corner with three minutes left on the clock, but an own goal soon after saved 1-1 and the points shared, which overall was good enough.

With 2-2-1 from the first five games, where the loss came against Bodø/Glimt, newly promoted Stabæk have got off to a good start with this year's edition of the Eliteserien.

The style of play seems quite clear so far, as Stabæk has only 45.6% ball possession on average, while only HamKam has fewer accurate passes.

It is reported that all Stabæk players must be available.

After zero points and zero goals scored from the first five games of the season, Aalesund’s coach Lars Arne Nilsen was fired, and even though there was another game without scoring in the last one, but it was at least a point, and there was also an improvement in terms of play.

Aalesund have obviously struggled offensively in the beginning of the season, and it is not only weak finishes that are the explanation for their scoreless streak. Only Tromsø has created fewer big chances, and only Haugesund, Tromsø and Rosenborg have fewer shots on goal.

The only good thing is that interim coach Marius Bøe can choose from an injury-free Aalesund squad here.
