They beat Sporting Lisbon 1-0 at home and 1-1 away in the quarter-finals, while they won both home and away against German side Freiburg in the last 16.
Sevilla, as we all know, have a powerful track record in the Europa League and after they drew 2-2 away to Manchester United in the first quarter-final at Old Trafford, it was perhaps not surprising that they reached the semi-finals, given their history. That they should win 3-0 and totally dominate the home game was perhaps more surprising. They have not had a good season in La Liga and are all the way down in 11th place with only 44 points.
However, I see that Juventus have always had some difficulties at home. They won just 1 match at home in the C1 Group stage, against the weakest Maccabi Haifa. Sevilla have really good ball possession and counterattack abilities. I don’t think Juventus will be still so lucky.
