Brann are one of the most pleasant surprises at the beginning of the season in the Norwegian first division. Last season in the second league, they finished more than dominant in the prom place with as much as 23 points more than the closest follower. During the season, they played 30 matches in which they had only 1 defeat and scored an incredible 95 goals, or in other words, more than 3 goals per match on average. After such dominance in the second league, it was realistic to expect that they would not immediately find themselves in the fight for survival in the top tier, but hardly anyone expected such a start for Brann among the best teams. They are currently in 2nd place and after 5 played rounds they have 3 wins, 1 loss and 1 draw. What is commendable is that they did not give up their style of play and continued to play recognizable attacking football from the very start of the game. They showed their strength best in the last 2 games against Rosenborg and Bodo. In the match against Bodo, they had a 2-0 advantage as guests, but they were unlucky and conceded a goal in the 94th minute. The victory against Rosenborg, again as guests, 2-0, shows that that game was not just one good day. It is very important that the team kept its best players from the previous season, such as the first scorer of the team, Finne, the best assistant Rasmussen, Heltne Nilsen, Hegebo and many others. After 2 consecutive guest appearances, they return to their fans where they will play the role of absolute favorites, which is more than deserved. At home, they have a streak of 14 victories, of which they scored less than 3 goals in only one game! In those 14 games, they have an unreal goal difference of as much as 52 goals scored and only 3 conceded! According to everything shown so far, it really seems that the match against today's rival should not be a major problem for them, but just another indication to the other teams that they must seriously count on them.

As for Sandefjord, they started this season in a similar way as they ended the previous one. After 4 rounds they have 1 win, 2 draws and 1 loss. They achieved that only victory in the previous round against Aalesund, which at the moment is the absolute worst team in the league, and in 5 played rounds they have 5 defeats in which they did not score a single goal. Only 1 point separated them from relegation from the league last season, which enabled them to play a playoff game for survival in the league. They played that game against the team that secured the last place in the playoffs for entry into the first league, and it can be said that they won as expected. Although they have conceded 3 goals in 4 games so far, it is important to point out that they did not play against the best teams in the league. This is a team that will certainly have a lot of difficulties in the league this season, and they will have to look for points against teams that are of similar quality to theirs. Visiting Brann is certainly not a place where they can expect points and they can be satisfied if they don't experience a result disaster.
