They are two points off of the relegation zone, and hence know the importance of every upcoming game. They cannot afford to slip up right now, especially in games like this against opponents they should be beating on a good day. I am expecting them to turn up against Elche, and put in a match-winning performance. If they were able to score two goals against one of the best defence in the league, in Real Madrid, while pushing Real Madrid to the limit, I expect them to beat Elche. Also, Almeria have been quite good at home.

Secondly. Elche do not really have much to fight for, and might be less motivated than Almeria. The feeling is that they are only waiting for the confirmation of their drop from the Spanish top league. They had been on a six game losing streak before their win against the 10-man Rayo Vallecano in their last outing. They have also not been good on the road. They have suffered 13 defeats on the road this season; the highest away defeats for any team in the league. And, they have now lost all their last four away games. That streak could be set to continue against Almeria.

Almeria and Elche have their troubles in this campaign. But Almeria are in a better form and condition to perform well in this encounter than their opponents. Hence, I am expecting a win for Almeria.
