Guimaraes was having a really good season and their Coach was making a really good job but now they are in their worst shape of the year. The team is struggling physically lately and they aren't the same team who always put great intensity in their games like early in the season but their style of play hasn't change, they like to attack and that's why their defensive line has been suffering multiple goals like every game of their losses and, they suffered twice against Arouca, Boavista and Famalicao and against Benfica they even suffered 5 goals what kinda shows the difficulties that they are getting here today against Sporting.

Sporting season is pratically to forget now, they are current in 4th place and 10 points behind Sporting Braga and getting to that important 3rd place will be really tough but like the Coach Ruben Amorim said, he only things to win all their games till the end of the season because winning is all that matters for him now especially after getting eliminated in the Europa League against Juventus in a very unlucky elimination, Sporting was the better team in both games and really deserved to advance but if you miss so many scoring chances you only can blame yourself. Guimaraes style of play usually fits really well with Sportings qualities and in their last two trips to this stadium they won against them easily by 3:1 and 4:0 and this season at home they already beat them by 3:0, it's just a good match-up for them.
