My recommended betting pick in this matchup is an Empoli win or draw for the following reasons;

FIRST REASON

Empoli is a much better team than Cremonese and looking back at their season, it is clear to see who the better side is. Cremonese has only two wins in 29 League games in the 2022/23 campaign and this is one of the lowest tally for a team playing in the European top five leagues. Out of the 29 teams that have played against Cremonese, 27 of them have come out with at least a point against the Violins and I expect Empoli to be able to see out a win or draw in this game. Empoli is having a better campaign and they are only eight points away from sealing their status in the top flight ahead of next season. Paolo Zanetti's boys have lost only 11 times in the league and they have picked up exactly double the amount of Cremonese's point. A quick glance at their performances over the season tips the tie in favour of Empoli and I don't see them losing here.

SECOND REASON

Cremonese didn't spend as much as they could when they were promoted to the Italian Serie A and although it wasn't their fault as they had very little spending power, it has cost them a lot as they are barely able to compete against most teams in the league. Their best player this season has only six goals in the league and the defense has always let down the team with a lot of goals shipped in at the back. Cremonese is not as big as Empoli in Italy football, and In their entire history, Cremonese has only been victorious against Empoli once in eight meetings. It was all too easy for Empoli the last time they faced Cremonese and I see them outplaying the newcomers once again.
