Last weekend, was dominating against Aston Villa (2.16 xG vs. 0.92) but lost 0:2! On Sunday night, it was announced that the team has sacked its manager Graham Poter although he was hired only 7 months ago. This means that this season Chelsea has sacked 2 managers! Chelsea struggles a lot at home where they have 2 draws, 2 losses and 1 win in the last 5 games. Overall this season, Chelsea has 6 wins and 4 draws in 14 home games, with a total of 16 goals scored and 12 conceded. Per xG, the team is expected to score 1.63 goals at home and concede 1.36.

Liverpool also can't be happy about their performance. Liverpool crushed Manchester United at home 7:0 but the team lost all the next 3 games. Liverpool had a much better xG against Bournemouth (1.75 vs. 0.86) but lost 0:1, it was followed by a 0:1 loss in Madrid against Real and just a few days ago Liverpool lost against Manchester City 1:4. Liverpool has 3 wins and 3 draws in 14 road games this season, with a total of 14 goals scored and 24 conceded. Per xG, Liverpool is expected to score 1.76 goals on the road (4th best) and concede 1.50 (5th best).

There's a long list of absentees for both teams. A little shorter list is for Liverpool and that's why I'm confident that they won't lose this game. 3 losses on the road in a row is a long streak and the motivation level for Liverpool should be high. Chelsea will have the 1st game under a different manager but it can't change the way the team is playing. It could give something positive but not so big in order to beat Liverpool.

The last 5 meetings have ended with draws, including the last three 0:0 draws. Chelsea has won only 3 out of the last 13 midweek games while Liverpool has won 9 midweek games in a row. It is going to be impossible for Chelsea to get into TOP6 and have a place in the European tournament next season while Liverpool is very close to it. At his point of the season, Liverpool should be more motivated and get at least a point.
