Luc Holtz's Luxembourg begin their charge for the European Championship qualification with a game against Slovakia. The Slovakian national team has given Francesco Calzona a few more games to redeem himself and this game is very important to both teams. I expect a cagey affair at the City Arena on Thursday, hence it would be wise to go with a three goals handicap for Luxembourg. Here's why you should back Luxembourg to win, draw or not lose by three goals;

[1] Luxembourg left a good impression in Europe last year and they are finally putting up a good fight against teams in the continent. They arrive this game with their best run in the national team history, going five matches without a loss. Luxembourg got an impressive 3-3 draw at home to Turkey, one which highlights the quality of football they are playing currently. Luc Holtz led his team to a victory over Lithuania in their last competitive game which was in the UEFA Nations League. Slovakia has now failed to win any of their last five matches and the team looks to be on a decline. They lost back-to-back games in the UEFA Nations League against Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan. Both teams are not as good as Luxembourg right now and I don't see the visitors losing let alone by three goals.

[2] Slovakia and Luxembourg met sometime back in 2015 and by then the football team in Luxembourg was still at its infancy, yet, they didn't lose by three goals. Both teams had their fair share of chances as Slovakia won 4-2. Luxembourg has improved over the years with a very competitive squad and they moved five places up into the top 100 on the FIFA World rankings last year. Throughout the whole of 2022, the Luxembourg national team didn't lose any competitive game by a three goal margin. Luxembourg's attack has also improved with the youngsters bringing in eight goals in their last five games. I don't see Slovakia breaking this streak and it would be a really good bet giving Luxembourg the three goals handicap to win.
