Sporting CP vs Estoril

Sporting season had been a lot of up's and down's but like I said in my last pick from them, they are starting to play at good level once again and they can't lose more points in this league because right now they are sitting at 4th place, 8 points behind Braga and 10 points behind Porto for the very important Champions League places, if Sporting misses the top 3 and doesn't make the Champions League next season it will have bad consequences for them for the next season and a win here would put a bit of pressure on Braga who will have a difficult game in Guimaraes after this game ends. Sporting at home has been rock solid since the World Cup Break ended, they won their Cup games easily against Farense (5:0), Maritimo (6:0) and Braga (5:0) and than in the league they beat Paços de Ferreira (3:0), Vizela (2:1) and Braga (5:0) and their only home loss came against their rival Porto where they lost by 1:2 and after that they had a very unlucky draw against Midtjylland in a game that should have won easily by 2 or 3 goals. In their last two games they played on the road where they have been struggling, they beat Chaves by 3:2 in one of their best road games of the season, the result suggest it was a close encounter but it wasn't, Sporting could have won that game easily by 4 or 5 goals, they just weren't effective and missed an penalty for the 4:1 and suffered the 3:2 in the last minute of the game but besides that it was a great game. After that they had the 2nd leg on the road for the Europa League and they needed to win and like I said in my bet I think they would do it and they done it, they won easily by 4:0 and most important they were up 1:0 in the game and in the 38th minute of the game Paulinho from Midtylland got his second yellow card and was sent-off, that was good for Sporting because in the 2nd half they hadn't to force the issue or run a lot and even so they scored 3 more goals in a very relaxed way, so I don't see Sporting suffering from fatique in this game because of that situation, it was not an intense game, it was a really good and chill performances from Sporting.

For this game Sporting is without Bragança. Ugarte is suspended for the game.

Estoril is right now in 15th place and have still a nice 6 point advantage over the relegation zone, however, the only reason why they are in this scenario is because they had an amazing start to the season because lately they are losing games after games. In their last 17 games they won only 2 games, both at home, had 3 draws, most of them against lower league teams for the Cup and 12 losses and some of those losses were against the teams from the relegation zone, they lost against the last place at home by 1:3 against Paços de Ferreira and on the road they got beat by Santa Clara by 1:3 and Maritimo by 0:1. Especially on the road they have been struggling, 5 losses in a row with only 1 goal scored and 9 goals suffered and now they will be on the road against a elite team who is playing really well now and who can't lose points so it will be a very difficult game. Those are the numbers lately from Estoril so it was no surprise to see Coach Nelson Veríssimo getting sacked and they have already found a new Coach in Ricardo Soares what I think is an excellent choice and will make this team better but it will take some time but also he only will assume the team after this game.

For this game Estoril has no injuries concerns.

For me Sporting is starting to play at the level we all expect them to play and it seems that Coach Ruben Amorim has finally united this squad they just need to be more effective and not making some stupid mistakes on defense but those issues has gotten better lately and for this game at home nothing better to face a struggling Estoril team who has looked awful. Without their Coach for this game it's tough to say which approach Estoril will play in this game, usually they play attacking football what would be a nice fit for Sporting, their attack would have more space to hurt Estoril's defensive line but even Estoril plays a more defensive approach I still believe that Sporting is able to break them, especially right now where Sporting attack is flowing and really looking good by scoring 7 goals in their last 2 games and creating even more scoring chances. In the end I expect Sporting to win this game by 2 or 3 goals, most likely by 3:0 or 3:1 and put some pressure on Braga for their game.
