After the great last season, West Ham expected to be at the top of the table again this season and fight for one of the leading places in Europe, but the situation is completely different. David Moyes' men are currently 17th in the table, have the same points as Nottingham Forest and only a better goal difference keeps them out of the relegation zone. The "Hammers" are in a disastrous form and have tied five league defeats. In the last round, they opened the game well in front of their fans against Brentford, but the "Bees" scored two quick goals and decided the match in their favor. Big questions are being asked about whether David Moyes deserves to continue on the bench and if he doesn't wake up his team soon he will most likely be sacked. The only bright spot of the team from London this season is the performances in the Conference League where they took first place in the group. Another good news is that Gianluca Scamacca and Nayef Aguerd are back in the team and they have been greatly missed. The home team is currently 14th in the table with 16 points. Last weekend, they went to the feet of a playful Newcastle and managed to snatch a point, 0-0. It was the first time after eight games that the "Peacocks" kept a clean sheet. Boosted by that good result, they will be motivated to start 2023 in the right way against a team in serious crisis. Jesse Marsh's men have won 11 points in eight home games this season. Leeds has one of the worst defenses in the Premier League, as evidenced by the fact that they have conceded 29 goals so far in the competition. As for the head-to-head matches, West Ham has the advantage, having won four times in the previous five meetings between these teams, which also saw the triumph of Leeds.
