Pohang finished 3rd last year just after Jeonbuk Motors and Ulsan Hyundai. It was a very good result as they booked a ticket for the Asian Champions League 2021.

Best scorer st Iljutchenko (30/22) and mid Palocevic (24/14) together scored more than half of total team goals, left for other teams in K1. Also mid O'Neill (16/0), mid Choi (27/1) and def Kim (29/1) left the team.

They were replaced from some good players like st Seong-ju Kim from Incheon, def Grant from Perth Glory and veterans Sang-hyub Lim from Suwon Bluewings or Jin-ho Shin from Ulsan Hyundai.

But there is a big difference between the players left and these signed.

Incheon in other hand managed to secure the K1 only in playouts. It happened the same as previous seasons. This team manage to survive even after a poor first part.

They signed some good players mostly experienced ones like def Ban-suk Oh from Jeonbuk, st Negueba one of the best players from K2, def Kwang-suk Kim from Pohang and def Delbridge from Melbourne City.

Coach renewed his contract and the goal this year is to secure the K1 without relegation playouts.

I think Pohang Steelers is not the same team as last year and Incheon should take advantage. Hosts changed a lot and needs sometime to adapt the new players.
