Hosts are favorites here for me.

Villarreall, as said in previous picks, have much less points than they deserve. Winless in the last 4 league games and 9th on the table, this is a very important game for them as can’t continue with this losing run, especially considering that in the midweek round they will play a very difficult match against Barcelona (who will be much needed as well after lose the Clasico).

Three of those 4 games where they did not achieve the victory were unlucky and undeserved. I’m speaking about Sevilla, Cadiz and Betis, where they had a lot of chances missed and conceded unlucky goals. Furthermore, I’m expecting a good game by them because the previous fixture against Real Sociedad was probably the worst of the season: they tried to make a defensive game, trusting in their solid and good defense (the best of La Liga with just 3 goals conceded so far), but were totally outplayed and weren’t able to create any danger.

With the Conference League qualification done, they can now be 100% focused in the league, where they are between the top4 contenders (for me they are the favorites for the 4th spot).

The lack of goal is the main problem of this team (mainly due to Gerard Moreno’s injury), but they are creating chances so sooner or later, they will score because they have a lot of quality in the squad.

On the other hand, Osasuna is a strong team but I see them some steps below Villarreal. They are being pretty irregular this season, winning Sevilla or achieving a draw in Santiago Bernabeu against Madrid (1:1) but also losing 0:2 against Getafe.

They are a difficult team to predict but I see a weak point in their defense, because are conceding goals and chances easily. Their central backs aren’t at their best level, coach is making many chances in defense, and also for today they will miss two starters due to red cards: Ruben Peña and Unai García.

Only in two games so far they have been able to keep the goal to nil: Cadiz (who has the worst attack of the league with just 4 goals scored in 9 games) and Almeria, who played against them after selling key striker Sadiq and being 4 games without score any goal and without create any dangerous chance.

I’m expecting a game dominated by Villarreal. Surely they will have chances and hopefully will be able to score them. In defense they are a very trustable team and it’s very possible to see another goal to nil by them. This is a key game for Villarreal and I believe they will be able to win it.
